It all began at the turn of the century. Glass in hand, the world became full of maps, geology, music, poetry, history, wonder. Wine became my life & I’ve never looked back (well, most of the time).
In the past 25+ years, I’ve worked as a Sommelier & Wine Director for some of the world’s best luxury hotels & humblest of natty wine bars. I have worked retail at small, artisanal shops & megalithic edifices with annual sales in the millions. My sommelier certificate was a rigorous three year ride culminating in an exam filled with 24 BLIND WINES & soon thereafter, was recruited by the Vice President to teach future sommeliers at the highest level. I have packed the wine bag as an importer & distributor across the US & owned my own brokering business. All while opening dozens of restaurants & bars in the US & Europe, crafting strategic wine lists. In 2019, I began co-hosting a podcast with over 100 episodes & through it all made certain to work in wine & cider cellars in several countries to learn the craft from the bottom up.
I cannot imagine a life without wine. It’s what I do.
